Texas Registered Agent Requirements

Who qualifies: Individuals must be Texas residents, 18+. Business entities must be authorized in Texas. Texas explicitly prohibits the entity from serving as its own RA (TX Bus Orgs Code § 5.201(b)). The Secretary of State also cannot serve
The registered agent address must be a physical street address in Texas — PO boxes alone typically don't qualify. The registered agent must be available at that address during normal business hours to accept delivery of documents.
Can You Be Your Own Registered Agent?
